At The Hotel

Long upheld as the epitome of elegance and hospitality, The Peninsula Hong Kong continues to reign as one of the city’s must-visit hotels. While many visitors and locals are familiar with the hotel’s famous afternoon tea service, the sophistication of The Peninsula goes much further in terms of facilities and service.

From the luxurious guest rooms and suites to the professionalism of the staff, The Peninsula Hong Kong takes its reputation as a luxury hotel seriously.

Rooms

The Peninsula Hong Kong is divided into two parts: the original heritage structure from its initial grand opening in 1928, and the Peninsula Tower that was added in 1994. Together, the entire Peninsula property covers 246 guest rooms and 54 guest suites, plus two separate presidential suites for the most discerning guests.

Both guest rooms and suites on the Peninsula come with a choice of views. City view rooms and suites in both buildings have views of the Kowloon streets below, while the courtyard-view rooms in the heritage building face the hotel’s impressive water fountain and give guests a glimpse of the in-house fleet of Rolls Royce limousines.

The harbor view suites, however, are among the most coveted rooms in the hotel. Easily recognizable by the presence of telescopes by the window, the harbor views look out across Victoria Harbour to the skyline of Hong Kong’s Central district and beyond. Suites also come with their own seating and dressing areas, as well as distinctive décor.

The rooms and suites for guests at the Peninsula come with high-tech details such as interactive bedside and desk tablets for entertainment and room service, as well as LED touch-screen controls for temperature and light control, among others. Furniture from Italian designers Poltrona Frau and Cassina add to the elegance of each room.

The heritage building’s Marco Polo Suite has two bedrooms with their own separate ensuite marble bathrooms, along with an open plan living and dining room. High ceilings and large windows give the suite the feel of a luxury private apartment, while the view of the courtyard adds to the old-world appeal.

At the top floor of the Peninsula Tower stands the ultra-exclusive Peninsula Suite, which has eagle-eye views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. Floor-to-ceiling windows, original artwork, and a blend of antique and modern furnishings evoke luxury and opulence at every turn.

Facilities

The facilities at the Peninsula cater to guests who want nothing less than premium service at their beck and call. Many of the establishments within the Peninsula complex represent the best premium establishments in Hong Kong while remaining within reach of even the most casual of guests.

Foremost among the Peninsula’s facilities is its world-renowned spa, which features a menu of offerings that include signature facials and full-body treatments using premium skincare products. The treatments include a massage designed to balance the healing energies in the body, as well as facials designed to restore the natural radiance of the skin.

The spa also offers seasonal and special occasion packages for guests to indulge in holistic treatments. These packages not only include specialized massages and other treatments, but upscale additions such as wine or tea service.

Guests at the Peninsula Spa are encouraged to use the spa’s facilities prior to their treatments, which includes crystal steam rooms, saunas, and luxurious showers. The spa can also create bespoke treatments depending on the guest’s particular needs for a fully personalized experience.

The Peninsula’s equally luxurious Fitness Centre boasts of inspiring views of Victoria Harbour and state-of-the-art fitness equipment, including the latest resistance training machines from LifeFitness. The gym’s exercise bikes, treadmills, and elliptical trainers also come with personal TV screens and VIVO digital workout-tracker technology.

Within the gym, guests can also take advantage of separate locker room facilities for men and women. The five-star post-workout facilities in the gym’s locker rooms range from hot whirlpool tubs and cold plunge pools to saunas and steam rooms.

Guests and locals alike frequent the Peninsula Fitness Centre not just for the view or the workouts, but also for the expertise of the gym’s trainers and instructors. Both personal training and fitness classes are offered at the gym, and memberships are also available for both locals and frequent guests of the hotel.

For guests who enjoy gastronomic indulgence, the Peninsula’s fine dining establishments offer award-winning cuisine specialties. The hotel’s longtime fixtures include Gaddi’s, which serves refined French cuisine, and the elegant Cantonese restaurant Spring Moon. Both have earned one Michelin star each for their distinctive culinary creations.

Also part of the fine dining roster is the chalet-like Swiss restaurant Chesa, a haven for lovers of cheesy treats like raclette and fondue. Meanwhile, Felix at the 28th floor stuns with its skyline views and contemporary European cuisine, and the chic Imasa offers pan-Japanese specialties from sushi and sashimi to Kaiseki-style meals.

Rounding out the Peninsula’s offerings for fine dining are The Verandah, which offers buffets, and the all-day dining options at The Lobby. There is also a bar and lounge for bespoke cocktails as well as a fashionable boutique and café where guests can grab coffee and pastries.

The real gem of the Peninsula’s dining establishments, however, is the Afternoon Tea Service at The Lobby. This distinctive afternoon tea service offers both a set with pastries and sandwiches, and an a la carte menu with snacks and a full list of the Peninsula’s bespoke tea and beverage selections.

Finally, the Peninsula’s shopping arcade is home to a wide range of luxury brands including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, and Tiffany & Co., as well as precious jade gifts and bespoke tailoring from Hong Kong’s finest.

They are also on top of every transport request imaginable, whether it’s a chauffeured limousine ride to the airport or a private helicopter tour around Hong Kong.

The Peninsula also prides itself on its wellness programs as part of the brand-wide “Life Lived Best” initiative. This initiative allows hotel guests to access wellness resources at the property, including a special Wellness Concierge who can make recommendations for in-room programs designed to maintain fitness, mental health, and nutrition.

As part of this wellness initiative, Peninsula Hong Kong also offers its own version of the brand’s plant-based Naturally Peninsula menu, which uses locally-sourced ingredients. The HK-exclusive items include a signature tea for sleep, de-stressing chocolates, and plant-based menus at The Lobby and Spring Moon, as well as poolside and private dining.

For private special events such as parties and conferences, the Peninsula’s function rooms come with advanced technological solutions for video conferencing and presentations. Dedicated wedding planners are also available for couples who want to stage their dream wedding at any of the hotel’s dedicated event venues.
