Hotel ICON
Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
A Place Where Substance Meets Style
Hotel ICON was initially founded by the School of Hotel & Tourism Management at Hong Kong PolyU to provide learning opportunities for both students and employees who want to work in the hospitality industry. Since then, however, the hotel has established itself as one of the most notable establishments for hospitality in Hong Kong, with a full-time staff running operations alongside interns and trainees.
A number of famed creative talents have collaborated with the hotel, including interior designer Terence Conran, architect Rocco Yim, and fashion designer Vivienne Tam. The vertical garden feature was also designed by botanist Dr. Patrick Blanc using plants that can thrive under the hotel’s conditions.
As one of the newer hotels in the thriving Tsim Sha Tsui area, Hotel ICON continues to evolve with the trends and times. The hotel aims to offer unique experiences in hospitality that continue to surprise and delight guests.

Rooms
The numbers in each room name at Hotel ICON represent the measurement of the room’s area in square meters, with the Icon 36 guest room clocking in at 36 sqm and the Club 80 Harbour Suite measuring up to 80 sqm. Two of the three guest room types come with city and partial harbor views, while the Club 65 Studio Suite has mountain views.
Every room comes with its own air purification system, which employs negative air pressure for proper air circulation and UV light for disinfection. Guests can also take advantage of the pillow menu to choose between hard and soft feather pillows for their best night’s sleep.
A complimentary mini bar and thoughtful additions such as printers, Nespresso machines, ergonomic chairs from Karuselli and Herman Miller, and Bluetooth speakers are part of the in-room amenities. Guests can also choose between soaking in the grand bathtub or washing off in the walk-in rain shower.
The Club 38 rooms are the only guest rooms that offer the much-desired harbor view, with an extra 2 sqm of floor space, a generous king bed, and access privileges to the Above and Beyond Club Lounge on the 28th floor, which are also offered for suite guests. The Club 36 rooms offer similar privileges but with a city and partial harbor view.
Of the two guest suites, the Club 65 Studio Suite comes with its own Blu-Ray disc player, a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, and views of Tsim Sha Tsui, with the bedroom separate from the living area and walk-in closet. The Club 80 Harbour View Suite has 280-degree views of the Hong Kong skyline and a bed that comes with imported linens and pillows.
Hotel ICON’s Designer Suite is an 80 sqm space curated by Hong Kong-born international fashion designer Vivienne Tam to reflect her signature brand of “China chic.” With lipstick-red furnishings, sleek wood paneling, and panoramic views of Victoria Harbour, the entire suite oozes with modern style.
Facilities
Hotel ICON has three restaurants and two exclusive lounges where guests can enjoy food and drinks. These dining facilities give guests the opportunity to enjoy fascinating views, exceptional cuisine, and high-quality beverages served by the talented professional staff.
The Cantonese restaurant Above and Beyond on the 28th floor has been recognized by both the Michelin Guide and Wine Luxe Magazine for its exceptional service and cuisine. Not only does the restaurant provide unique dim sum offerings, but it also has set and a la carte menus for guests to enjoy the chefs’ expertise in creating Chinese specialties.
Inspired by food markets from all over the world, The Market is considered one of the best buffets in Hong Kong. The buffet menu showcases a selection of Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Southeast Asian offerings, as well as a few Western favorites. Buffets are available for lunch and dinner, and there’s also an Afternoon Tea with unlimited desserts.
The brasserie Green is located under the lobby’s vertical garden, serving enticing Western specialties for lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. Favorites such as fresh seafood and decadent grilled steaks are among the offerings, but there are also plant-based menus for vegetarians and even a delightful menu for desserts.
For guests in Club rooms and suites, the Above and Beyond Club Lounge and Bar offers complimentary breakfast for guests in the morning, and a free-flowing menu of drinks and snacks throughout the day. Beer lovers will appreciate the ice-cold draught beer, and readers can even borrow the books at the lounge for their own pleasure.
The Timeless Lounge, on the other hand, is open to both guests and non-guests. The 9th floor lounge has views of Victoria Harbour, the Harbour Tunnel, and the Hong Kong PolyU campus from its perch on the 9th floor. Signature cocktails, finger foods, and a crowd of local tastemakers make the lounge experience enjoyable.
The 9th floor is also home to the hotel’s open-air heated swimming pool, where the view of the Hong Kong skyline adds to the relaxing vibe. Next to the pool is the fitness center, a 24-hour harbor-facing facility with advanced cardio and resistance training equipment and a view of the pool.
And for ultimate luxury, there’s also the Angsana Spa, staffed by therapists and estheticians who are trained in various Asian spa techniques. Relax with a wide range of body massages, facials, skin treatments, and soothing relaxation rituals that are guaranteed to make you feel brand new afterward.
