FACILITIES

Melo Spa stands out for its simplicity, both in its treatments and its facilities. The spa shares heat and water facilities with the Hyatt Regency’s own Fitness Centre but holds its own when it comes to the quality of its in-house features, services, and treatments.

The highlights of Melo Spa are the nine all-inclusive spa suites, four of which include terraces with breathtaking mountain views. Each private suite comes with its own rain shower for rinsing off between treatments, as well as a soaking tub for indulging in any of the spa’s hydrotherapy baths.

Groups of up to 12 people can also book the Melo Moments room, which has custom-designed furniture with built-in foot baths. Here, guests can enjoy special treatments for the head, neck, shoulders and feet while spending time with friends and loved ones.

SIGNATURE TREATMENTS

The results-oriented treatments at Melo Spa stand out for their natural ingredients as well as the application of different healing modalities. Ingredients in the face and body treatment include locally sourced fruits as well as minerals and infusions of precious stones, while Eastern and Western techniques are applied for physical treatments.

The award-winning Melo Marmalade stands out as the spa’s signature body treatment. Here, a decadent yet freshly prepared mixture of Sha Tin pomelo, local honey, brown sugar, orange and lemon is applied to the body as a revitalizing polish that leaves skin soft and smooth.

Similarly, the Melo Signature Massage also uses citrus fruits grown in Sha Tin, which are infused in the spa’s own massage oil blend. The techniques used in this massage are personalized to the guest’s needs, and the combination of touch and scent enhance the relaxation benefits.

The Melo Meridian Massage, on the other hand, incorporates a meridian stick to stimulate the meridians of the body using principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine. The treatment is meant to improve blood circulation and facilitate the flow of healing energies, not to mention encouraging relaxation.

For facial treatments, the Melo Signature Collagen Facial aims to boost collagen production in the skin and enhance elasticity. This treatment also incorporates premium skincare products from Gemology, which contain trace elements of precious stones.

Finally, the 30-minute Melo Signature Bath, which can be booked alongside other treatments, includes a blend of essential oils, lemon, mandarin, clove and sea salt to tone the skin as well as uplift the spirit. This hydrotherapy bath is meant to enhance the blissful effects of any treatment.

Other treatments include a Hong Kong Deep Tissue Massage that combines Swedish, shiatsu, and sports-medicine techniques; the Restorative Envelopment that uses extracts from organic minerals; the Pearl and Diamond Luminous Facial that promises to improve skin condition and appearance; and an anti-aging Detox Aromatic Bath with grapefruit.

In addition to the spa’s extensive offerings, guests can also add short treatments such as scalp massages, hand and foot treatments, body wraps, scrubs, and mini massages. These add-ons are meant to enhance the benefits of each treatment, both physically and mentally.

Melo Spa comes with its own Spa Concierge that can customize treatments and packages for each guest. These helpful staffers can assist guests in securing desired treatments and appointments, purchasing gift certificates for future visits, and answering questions related to the Melo Spa experience.

The spa offers Melo Meditations packages, which are based on the desired results of every guest. The 4-hour Nourish package includes the Signature Bath, Melo Marmalade, Signature Massage, and Signature Collagen Facial, while the two-hour Detox package includes a deep tissue massage as well as a foot massage and aromatic bath.

Spa guests who want to celebrate special occasions on their own at the spa can book any singular treatment within a given price range, plus extra packages that come with cakes and spa vouchers for their next visit. These in-spa celebration packages are created to make spa days extra special even in the most intimate of moments.

Groups of at least 4 people can book the spa for “sparties” that include any choice of treatment as well as a special food menu at an extra charge filled with healthy treats, finger food, and even a pomelo-flavored hot drink. These “sparty” packages are perfect for group trips and any other occasion for a countryside getaway.

The Welcoming Experience

With its lush treatments and amenities, Melo Spa positions itself as one of the newest additions to the growing list of luxury spas in Hong Kong. Melo Spa’s simplicity conveys a charm all its own, befitting its green surroundings in Sha Tin.

The spa experience alone is worth the trip up north to the New Territories for a much-needed urban getaway. Melo Spa’s suites guarantee privacy and spaciousness, and the natural treatments rely more on proven results than gimmicky ingredients or complicated machines.

Once you emerge from the treatment table at your spa suite, you will feel refreshed and energized, both in body and mind. Perhaps it’s the scent of various fruits, spices, and herbs in your treatment, or the gentle yet firm touch of the therapists administering your treatment, but a session at Melo Spa will definitely renew your senses.
